Whither Goeth the Trump

Hopefully now that Trump has flamed out and is falling to earth, perhaps some sanity can begin to take over the US government and we can begin to look forward to dealing with oncoming reality, instead of staring into the distant past and trying to bring it back as the far right side of the political spectrum has been trying to do.  While Trump would claim that the Earth was finally coming up to meet him, the obvious truth is that his bubble has burst, and even if he should win tonight - not all that likely - the fact that he has burned his bridges to the Republican party regulars, told unbelievable numbers of obvious lies and alienated the majority of the populace will not let him rest.  His “honeymoon” period won’t be long, and I doubt that he would survive a full year of actually being president - reality in large quantities and very real quality is not something he has ever had to deal with, and even if he survives physically, his mind won’t.

If the likely scenario of his losing the election comes to pass, the next question will be who will be left to change his diaper and feed him.  The shock to his system of actually having lost the one real battle he has picked for himself is likely to destroy what little personality he has.  Bullies are nothing but masks on people who are defined by their insecurities, and with that mask torn off he is likely to face real mental health problems.  While the rich have far better cushions to land on than the rest of us, he is likely to end up with almost nothing to call his own, so it will be up to his wife and kids to keep him alive.  I wouldn’t be surprised if he disappears into an apartment in one of his company’s building, rarely to be seen again.

At any rate, I doubt that he will be a problem for long regardless of what happens.  Well, I am hopeful, anyway, because the alternatives are overwhelmingly ugly and bloody if he hangs around.
