You can’t Steer the Ship of State by the Seat of your (dirty) Diapers

The delinquent toddler in the oval office has done an excellent job of proving that we need adults in the federal government, even if he hasn’t convinced “his base.” Unfortunately, the fascists running Washington like having a complete idiot in the Whitehouse, and are going to do everything they can to keep him there.

The US public is faced with the results of our decades-long failure to pay attention to the reality that the fascists have been slowly bringing into being, and we have given up the Constitution and Bill of Rights as a result. Getting those back from the fascists is not going to be easy, and we are faced with the unsettling proposition that we may have to resort to a reverse coup to get the fascists out. This is disheartening at best, but we have backed ourselves into a corner by electing the likes of Nixon, Reagan, the Bush bunch, McConnell, and now the Orange Hitler, although he was really elected by Putin. At some point, we ran off the cliff with the rest of the lemmings.

All of my life I have been hearing that “Freedom isn’t Free,” usually from some right wing racist pushing for military violence against some nation of non-aryans. The non-racist reality has come home to roost on a nation that has been thinking it was getting a free ride, living in its dreams since the end of WWII. The fascists (including the wingnuts) have been given license to finish off the remainder of the democracy, and now we all will pay in the same way that the German people paid under the Nazis. We already have the concentration camps and the Gestapo that were some of the worst features of Hitler’s reign, but most of the people in this country are still completely head-up-their-ass blind to that reality.

I have got to wonder what it is going to take to wake the rest up - the freak in the Whitehouse is running out as many of the “woke” as he can, so his next step is likely to be arresting anyone who speaks out against him (the truth is not his friend, obviously) on whatever bullshit he can trump up and sending us to his concentration camps and for-profit jails. What happens next will probably be left up to the “free market,” i.e. slavery or execution. Putin is always there for advice if they need experts, of course.

I really thought things were bad under Reagan. The Bush pair screwed it up even further. I really never expected the SS and Gestapo (now labeled ICE) in the US, but here they are. I never expected concentration camps in the US, but there they are. We’ve seen this movie before…
