Trump’s Holocaust

It has been quite clear since day one of the orange con artist’s presidential campaign that racism was a strong (if not the strongest) component of his appeal. His racism is still his strongest suit even when he discusses the current virus plague, but his “base” loves it. He and his advisors have implemented all kinds of cruel and systematic repression against their chosen scapegoats. He refers to these scapegoats as “illegal immigrants,” even as he makes it very clear that he is referring to any non-white person anywhere. He has created the prison camps, the new SS (now called ICE), and the privacy-invading identification systems that would simplify the collection of these people for destruction - he has created the machinery for a new Holocaust here in what used to be the United States of America.

One hope I had in the midst of all of this came from the orangutan’s inability to find or keep competent people to support his more Hitlerian impulses. He has never been able to carry out his worst ideas, thanks to this. As it is, he and his appointees stripped out many if not most of the government’s best people - competent people won’t accept his destructive insanity. We have seen a repeated public mini-drama played out as the real leaders that somehow made it into the toddler’s White House refused to pretend that the orange one knew what he was lying about and quit or were fired.

Now it turns out that those competent people were useful. The government needed them to keep things running. Instead of efficient extermination like the original Nazis did it, we have a viral plague that incompetence has made far worse. If we continue to listen to the wannabe-king and his moronic minions, there could soon be as many deaths in the US from the coronavirus as the original Nazis killed in their prison camps.

The big difference between Hitler’s Holocaust and that of the Hitler-wannabe is that the real Hitler’s Holocaust hit its target. Trump’s virus-driven holocaust is hitting everybody, not just the intended victims of his pogrom. Pre-virus, the new genocide was on track to kill many, but the massive incompetence that the twit in the White House loves would have prevented the program from coming close to its intended goals. That same ineptitude is preventing the administration from dealing with the viral plague in any intelligent or proactive manner, and he hasn’t found a way to con his way out of it. The orange twit’s incompetence is biting him in the ass, and it could be the end of him.
