Show Us the Evidence

The impeachment trial now ended showed the public some interesting stuff. Obviously, the orange moron and his cult are lunatics, but we already knew that. What we got from the trial were details of just how bad. But we also learned that the Capitol building has a very nice security system, and that is what prompted this.

We have eyewitness accounts that some members of Congress were giving tours to orange cult fanatics before the attempted coup. These tours would have been recorded on the Capitol’s camera system, quite possibly with audio as well. While I am sure there are agreements that prevent the members of congress from using the cameras against each other, we are talking treasonous behavior here, so a de-trumpified FBI should be looking at those recordings with the intent of prosecuting the members of congress guilty of treason.

Not only would they know who they could prove guilty of plotting the attempted coup, they would also know just how guilty. It would seem very likely that there would be enough evidence to prove that there was a clear conspiracy and also strong evidence against those who were the most involved. Open and shut cases with grand jury indictments should be enough to force the worst of the crazies out of Congress, either by forcing them to resign, or by putting them in jail - or possibly both.

The same idea applies if Pelosi, say, wanted to investigate those same loonies - committees could subpoena the recordings. The only reason I suggested the FBI is that the remaining orange cult members in Congress wouldn’t be able to block or even slow criminal proceedings down outside of Congress, and therefore would have more effect.

The evidence is available and the cult is still around, so this would be a great start.
