Credit Where Due

Now that we see some possible light down the COVID tunnel, the fascist former president wants some credit. I think we can do that.

The orange cult leader did the only thing he ever showed any competence at - threw billions of tax dollars at billionaires; in this case, the billionaires of big pharma. At the same time, hundreds of thousands died because of the liar-in-chief’s complete failure to deal with the epidemic in any intelligent, scientifically credible way - Clorox injections, anyone? - making him the first mass-murdering president in U. S. history. End of credit due.

Now that we have that out of the way let’s look at what needs to happen going forward. The medical profiteers who received the massive “COVID vaccine” windfall need to be closely audited, and obscene profits clawed back. That is taxpayer money, not play money for fascist politicians to hand out. The clawed-back cash can pay for the stuff the orange idiot DIDN’T do, like distributing the vaccine. We also ought to use some of it to pay for the prosecution of political thieves like DeSantis of Florida, who used the vaccine as bribes to buy votes as well.

The federal government needs to rebuild itself in several ways, including the office that used to coordinate the response to medical threats like this one. The fascists made the formerly most medically advanced nation into the laughingstock of the world with their failure to do anything intelligent when the virus first got here or even when it first threatened. That shouldn’t be too difficult to fix, at least from the government response side - the current administration respects science and reality.

The real problem is that we have no medical system. The current medical robbery system has no reason to respond to threats like this because they profit from disaster. “Your money or your life” is the order of the day, and we have been powerless to fight the medical profiteers. The medical corporations’ ownership of (at least) the GOP has prevented positive change, leaving us with Obamacare at best - painting the walls when we need a new building. Until we have a functioning medical system in the U. S., we are vulnerable to every new plague.

The orange sickness in the White House made things worse by several orders of magnitude. That is the credit he is due.
