What is Britain going to do without the NHS?

The Tories are about to bankrupt it

Britain has its problems, economic and social. All of these boil down to one thing - too many years of Tory control. The British version of the Rethuglican party is about to do to Britain what the GQP is doing to the U. S. - destroy it.

So what will the British people do without the NHS? They don’t have a medical infrastructure to speak of other than the NHS, so when it goes away, many people will end up dead. Among other things, there is no room in the British citizen’s budget for private medical care, and almost nobody has the disposable income to support it.

The government won’t relieve the citizens of the taxes that the government was supposed to use to pay for the NHS, of course. That money is gone into some Tory’s pocket, full stop. The GQP in the U. S. is trying to cut Social Security benefits without cutting Social Security taxes. The Tories also want tax money without paying for the services they were supposed to render.

The Tories have been actively trying to destroy the NHS since it began, yet the British voter has kept them in power for decades. To most Brits, the NHS is just a fixture of life, and they won’t look at the Tories’ obvious destruction of it.

The Tories haven’t been trying to hide what they have been doing, either. Nobody there seems to notice. The thieves have been operating in broad daylight, and nobody wants to believe they have been stealing. They lie about it constantly, and only a few unpopular independent sorts actually call them down.

Since Brits no longer have EU passports, they are very likely to find sudden barriers when they try to emigrate to someplace with real medical care. Without the NHS, the rest of the British economy will collapse like a house of cards in a hurricane, and the people will suddenly find their island is a tiny, isolated place.

The Tories will blame the people striking in the streets, of course. Just another lie among the thousands they tell, but they have a pretty good record of making their lies stick. All of the evidence points the other way, but like the GQP’s twits, the British people just grin and swallow the garbage they are fed.

They bought the hilarious fiction that sold them Brexit. They will likely buy it when the Tories blame their neighbors for striking. They know their neighbors are striking because they need money to buy food and care for their children, but that reality won’t matter. The fact that the Tories have destroyed the economy won’t matter. Facts don’t matter in the blame game. Just ask the GQP.
