How Do You Talk to a Crackhead?

The orange cult has zero connection to reality

Every time I try to talk about the orange cult, someone tells me I have to communicate and find common ground with them. The problem with that is that they have no connection to reality, so there is no basis for communication.

One cult member I have to deal with on a regular basis tells me “I’m not a racist. I’m not a Nazi.” and then proceeds to tell me I am delusional when I laugh at his babbling about critical race theory. All I can do at that moment is laugh at him some more.

First, he makes a liar out of himself two ways. CRT is pure racist Nazi propaganda with zero truth behind it, so he makes an obvious lie out of his first two statements. On top of that, he seems to believe the fright-wing idiocy that CRT is buried in DEI and all that, so even more lies. The guy is a regular sewer pipe.

I am well aware that the orange cult has no concept of truth, and they don’t care whose lies they tell, but having to face it in person is really hard. I am supposed to treat this individual as a human rather than the orange zombie he is. I don’t care if he actually has drugs in his system, he has the same total disconnection from reality as someone who is out-of-their mind stoned. I have no experience dealing with that kind of druggy, so maybe I am even calling it the wrong drug, but the disconnection from reality is the real problem regardless.

So how do you communicate with someone who has no connection to reality? When I was growing up they hauled them away in straitjackets and locked them in institutions. Now there are a lot more of them, and we aren’t allowed to institutionalize them unless they hurt someone physically. A dead body is a high price to pay to get a loon off the street.
