Let’s Think About ThisOK, so the cops killed another black man, only this time it wasn’t even all white cops, and they didn’t shoot him, it was just regular line cops using regular brutality in their regular work. The town goes up in arms, lots of protests, media circus, etc., etc. After the dust begins to settle: The Maryland governor calls for a day of “prayer and peace”. Hunh? So what? This is getting old - every time the shit hits the fan, someone calls for a day of prayer. The weird right wants a day of prayer just for the hell of it. How about this: When someone pulls a stupid that causes yet another riot or other social upheaval, how about calling for a day of thinking? The prayer thing obviously isn’t having much effect, so instead of promoting more stupidity, why doesn’t our so-called leadership call for something that could actually have some effect - thinking about what went wrong, and thinking about ways to fix it. To quote someone known for a think or two:
Smart fella, that Einstein. What a concept, thinking. Might catch on someday? Nope, hasn’t got a prayer…
