The Stink of Musk

Falsehood

Like many others, I had to delete my Twitter account. I never posted there until the orangutan got banned, and I see no reason to change that.

Twitter was once a place where new writers could go to be discovered. That is no longer even vaguely true - the noise level is far too high for someone who is not already known to get noticed. Posting there is the social media equivalent of advertising during Tucker Carlson - there is nobody listening that is worth talking to. I don’t write for the mentally ill.

With the new chief stink kicking the (rest of the) brakes off of the fright wing, I don’t want to be seen there. The dominant fright-wing ethos is “lie, and the bigger, the better.” I don’t want to be in that environment.

Having your Twitter posts quoted is about to become an ugly badge of dishonor for all but a select few. I am not in that group, and Twitter is not a place where it is possible to join.
