The Sick World of the Orange Cult

I have more than once described the orange cult leader as the only president ever to go from diapers to Depends without anything between. The more I see of him and his followers, the more I realize that childish idiocy is the whole reason for the existence of the cult. There is no adult purpose.

In this article, Adam Serwer of The Atlantic magazine refers to the cruelty of the orangutan and his followers as “the point.” He is correct as far as he goes, but I beg to differ with him on one thing. I see the cruelty as just one of the points. The bigger point of the orange cult is shedding the inhibitions and culture of adulthood and civilization. They are returning to their childhoods. The orange toddler just sets the example.

When I was around 6 years old, I remember standing on my dog’s tail and giggling as he whined and his feet scratched and scooted as he went nowhere. The dog had a sweet nature and quickly forgave me for it, but my mom was not so kind and punished me for it, rightfully so.

I learned that cruelty was not acceptable. It wasn’t the spanking that taught me the lesson, but my mothers extremely angry refusal to accept that behavior from her son that got the point across. I was not acting like a human being, and she made that clear. This is one of the lessons that keeps humanity from destroying itself. It is also one of the things that sets adults apart from children.

The orange cult is held together by this. In the cult they don’t need to remain adults or act human. They return to that childhood narcissism that makes such cruelty “fun.” Whether it is spreading bullshit lies about Paul Pelosi after he was attacked by one of them, or taking children of immigrants away from their parents, they enjoy the pain they create in others.

Using so-called social media, they become a mob. They act like children on the playground grinning after beating up the smallest one in the class. It is this bullying mob psychology that makes them even more dangerous together than they are individually.

The head diaper-wearer knows how to manipulate the mob once they are operating as one This is why he wants his huge Hitler-esque rallies. A mob has no shame and no brains, and he plays them like a piano once they are whipped up. We have January 6 as a toxic example of the results.

This is a “Lord of the Flies” scenario, except this has happened around the edges of civilization. A bunch of biological adults decayed into savage children while the rest of us weren’t watching.

Is there a solution?

The obvious and necessary first step is to teach them how they need to act. Some may actually have some idea of what adulthood requires, but the tribe has allowed that to fall away.

The next step is to force them to deal with, and act like, adults. Breaking the back of the tribe/mob means making adulthood necessary for the individual members’ existence. If acting like children leaves them hungry, their brains might start functioning.

As long as they are functioning as a mob, no correction can work. Punishing them justifies their inhumanity in their minds, and they have their tribe backing them up. The cult has always blamed others for what they do, and this would be no different. The toddler-in-chief has long set the example here.

The problem is the moral and ethical equivalent of “how do we punish truly bad children.” If I had acted this way as a child, I would have been locked away in a “military institute” or boarding school until I graduated to an adult jail at 18. Even releasing every pot-bust and harmless status criminal from jail wouldn’t make enough room for this bunch. Jail is what they have earned, so what do we do with them?

I did have one suggestion earlier, and it still looks good even if it is not immediately practical. I am open to suggestions.
