The Fascists Have Won

Democracy is dead - long live Democracy

With the fascists of the former GOP poised to take control of the U. S. government, it is time to take stock of what they will have won. I say “take control,” but if the orange anus gets back into the Whitehouse, the victory will be a total loss for everyone, even the fascists. The orangutan can’t remember what he had for breakfast, let alone what he needs to do to govern. His results destroy everyone and everything around him. He did it once, and it will be worse this time.

To “win” this event, they completely destroyed the American public’s confidence in the government. This means that whatever they will have won has far less value than what the GOP won when Reagan got into office. Nobody believes in it, and their obvious bullshit isn’t going to make anyone believe in it. They will have destroyed their own victory.

Their problem is what they sell and what their conned suckers’ votes buy. The garbage they are talking about is not based in reality. They have talked their suckers into the biggest con job ever. They will have done it twice, given that they recently won the Whitehouse with the same bullshit.

Culture Wars and Fantasy Victories

Of course, fantasy has no deliverables - it is the total product¹. You have all of its value as long as you believe it. As an example, religion is a fantasy. It has zero real-world connection, but the problem is that it has no value in the real world, either.

The same is true for the fascists’ fantasies. “Culture Wars” victories are terrible things and cannot last. They are temporary terrorism and doomed. If they don’t go away, the remains of the civilization will. For example, women will revolt if enough of them die because of moronic abortion restrictions. Maybe not enough of them to force change in the short run, but the damage will last for generations. The false conservatism and fake “Right to Life” that kills them will go down with it. These idiots have already shot their feet off and are working their way up their legs. Their victories are fantasies, and the price everyone pays will be far too high in the long run.

Another example: Texas has severe issues with its power grid. Its incompetent administration over the decades has left its grid in horrible shape. It is regularly failing, hot weather or cold. When the grid died during a cold snap, the government fired the few competent, forward-looking sorts on the utilities board and called the problem solved. Of course, this “victory” is more of the same, a complete fantasy and one that will actually make the situation worse. Since fantasy is Abbott & Co.’s product, that is what they want. The citizens of Texas will continue to die of it.

To add to the stupidity, the fascists somehow blame the renewable energy part of Texas’ grid as the most significant part of the problem. The fact that the windmills kept working better than the natural gas generation systems was just an inconvenient fact. It doesn’t fit their “alternate reality.”

What is disgusting to this electrical engineer is that Texas is in a natural position to be a monster seller of electric power. They have to bring their grid up to standard for their own health. By doing this, they could then build out renewable systems - wind and solar - for which the climate there is a natural fit. That would be a continuing fat cash cow because they could sell it to the rest of the country.

Texas’ citizenry is paying with money and lives for their fantasies. The utility owners have paid no penalty for building a substandard grid, so they are happily raping the populace raking in cash. The only advantage this utility clusterfuck has for Texans is that Ted Cruz will spend more time out of the state.

Election Lies and their Terrible Price

The fascists are poised to win the 2022 mid-terms with their usual bullshit. They have created false “high crime” and “bad economy” narratives. Their fantasies add to the actual discomfort caused by COVID and the Russian physical and economic war on Democracy. They are also playing along with Putin, which is childishly transparent. Putin taught the orange toddler some tricks of the terrorist trade, and the rest of the fascists are playing along. It is disgusting and saddening to see American citizens giving Nazi salutes and cheering for fascists like Orban. Scared people are stupid people, and the fascists are experts at keeping the fear going.

The downside of governance by fantasy is that it drives out competent people. After the first coming of Trump, the only thing left of the executive branch worth keeping was a few die-hards that kept their heads down and mouths shut. They aren’t the ones selling the garbage “tell-all” books about the administration. They are still there and keeping the real business of government going.

Biden at least has enough sense to keep the good people he can find. He doesn’t have the liberty to ditch all of the bad ones. That leaves some of the fake president’s turds still stinking the place up, but most of them got out while the getting was good. Now they are making their money narcing out the insanity that they helped create.

The government isn’t the only one that loses good people to fantasy mismanagement. Any company has managers known for driving out anyone with a brain. Sometimes the whole company is hostile to anyone but ass-kissers. The misbegotten billionaires that got rich off these places as the ones that paid for the fascists’ rise to power and continue to fund it. The Thiels, Uhleins, Kochs, and the like are the financial powers behind the wrecking balls destroying the United States.

As has happened repeatedly, this terror causes “brain drain.” It is faster and more pronounced in today’s higher-mobility society than historically. Companies that value the intelligence and individuality of their employees get and keep their good people. The ones that don’t lose them. The state of California has a bigger economy than most of the rest of the world put together. The reason is that the companies that do business there have high intellectual content in their products. Those products have higher profit margins. This has forced those companies to find and keep good, intelligent people. The companies (and the state) do what is necessary to keep the best. Their economy is the result.

The fascists do not want good people around. They prefer corporate fellow travelers, companies that operate as miniature fascist states. These companies have lower profit margins and don’t pay workers well. Their executives get paid well, but they don’t live and pay taxes in fascist-controlled areas. The crime is too high, the economy too bad, and the education system non-existent.

This kind of company does not add much to the local economy, so fascist-controlled areas are always poor. This encourages more brain drain, and the cycle continues and worsens. There is no money for education in those areas and less-than-zero inclination to find some. No company with any real intellectual needs can even think about moving there. They will move out if they came for tax breaks and those stop.

The fascist message for this election is “high crime and bad economy,” and that is exactly what the areas they win in have. Those problems get worse as they get more control, too. Those of us paying attention are well aware that the story they are selling is actually a warning of what they will do to us. This is the beginning of the terrible price of letting fascists in. We have the history of Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy to see if we really want to know the rest.
