Is Fascism Measurable?

Is Nikki, Ron or Donald the most fascist of them all?

Characteristics of Fascism:

extreme militaristic nationalism, contempt for electoral democracy and political and cultural liberalism, a belief in natural social hierarchy and the rule of elites, and the desire to create a Volksgemeinschaft (German: “people’s community”), in which individual interests would be subordinated to the good of the nation. - www.britannica.com/topic/fascism

If that isn’t a clear and concise definition of the fright wing and the post-Trump GQP, there never will be one. There will be some argument over who the “elites” should be, although the three mentioned above (and their followers) obviously think they are the elite everyone should be following.

The problem with defining who is “the most fascist” is that we really have no way of measuring and quantifying fascism. In the area of “extreme militaristic nationalism,” only one of the three have made their militaristic nature obvious. The orangutan demonstrated his militarism by having his brownshirts - Three Percenters, Proud Boys, etc. - storm Congress when he lost the election.

All of the above GQP presidential wannabes have clearly demonstrated their “contempt for electoral democracy and political and cultural liberalism,” and none of them has any real lead in this area. They are all clearly fascists here.

The “belief in natural social hierarchy” is baked into the fright wing, enough so that it isn’t possible to find any shred of difference between the three in this area. The don’t talk about it because it is clearly un-American in all ways, and if they did bring it up, it would drive most regular American citizens to the voting booth to vote for anybody BUT them. It is the unspoken truth underlying the innate fascism of the fright wing, though, and the reason that “the base” is almost all white males who wish that they were the natural top of the food chain.

The last part, “the desire to create a Volksgemeinschaft (German: “people’s community”), in which individual interests would be subordinated to the good of the nation” is a rather polite and scholarly way of saying recreating the Nazi physical and mental brutalization of anyone that doesn’t match their beliefs. Again, the orange menace has an edge in this due to his brownshirts’ Jan. 6 attack.

DeSadist is clearly second in this area with his terror campaign against LGBTQ people in Florida. He gets extra points for taking over educational institutions and turning them into brainwashing camps. That will play well with his fright-wing base, but anybody with any brains will send their kids somewhere that offers real education.

From the scorecard above, Trump is clearly the most fascist, but only because he has been in power and abused that power in classical Hitlerian fashion. DeSadist is clearly second, but is coming up fast on the outside with his undoing anything that he can claim is progressive in Florida. He is definitely the most obvious and menacing down the road. Since the orange toddler is too old to be much of a menace any more, Desadist is definitely the up-and-coming Nazi of choice.

In the end, Desadist’s anti-intellectual idiocy will drive all of the productive, useful people out of Florida, just as Hitler drove all of the intellectuals out of Europe ahead of his military takeover. All that will be left are the rich elites in their walled enclaves, old folks dying much sooner than they should, and a few well-paid slaves for the rich to abuse. Stoned tourists don’t count, they can’t vote.

Sorry, Nikki, you can’t compete with the boys. While you make the right noises and have demonstrated that you are plenty stupid enough to be a fascist, you just haven’t been in the right places to show off like the guys have. Given that you are in the GQP with their cavemen’s attitudes on women, you pretty much have zero chance of ever getting a chance to show your stripes.

Just ask Hillary - she got a lot closer to the Oval Office than you will ever dream of being. American men’s fear of women doomed her in the end, and given that you are down in the sewer with the worst of them, I am going to have to laugh at you even trying.
