Murdoch’s Mob is Smarter than their Product – and their Customers

Some of the media is acting surprised about Faux Noise people talking about Trump & Co. negatively, or that is the impression they leave from their headlines. How the hell is this possible? These talking heads are con artists talking about their product - they don’t have to like it, just sell it. Nothing new in that, the same is true of cigarette and oil merchants. They sell the product and chuckle all the way to the bank. They have highly profitable and highly destructive products. Murdoch’s profit margins put oil and cigarettes to shame.

While they have a shrinking audience as Trump melts down, they keep finding more products, and more suckers to buy them. Now that the orange dictator-wannabe has turned poisonous, they are changing to other dictators. The insane fright-wing has already shown their love for Orbán, and Putin has never received a bad word from them, either, so there is plenty of product out there for the merchants of autocracy to sell. Netanyahu, Saudi Arabia and Iran are next, and pretty soon they are going to be pushing the Afghan Taliban as moral paragons. Those of us near the American south have been referring to the southern pseudo-christian church mobs as “American Taliban” for decades for obvious reasons - the only difference is language anyway.

The Murdoch crowd is just like the collection of oil-company executives who have spent years or decades lying about global warming when they knew better. Faux Noise con artists can’t suddenly get honest. These are the moral equivalent of “big tobacco” executives, who knew well ahead of the government how deathly their product is and was, but after lying about it for so many years, they no longer had any honesty in them. Lying continuously for long periods of time hollows out the “person” and makes a reptile out of them - just look at Mitch McConnell as a prime example.

Just because the Faux Noise talking heads know their product is toxic bullshit doesn’t mean they feel any obligation to be honest or to change to a more honest product, even when called out for their obvious lies. The only way to stop the lies is to inoculate their suckers against them, but that takes education, and the current crowd is far beyond educable if they ever were. The fact that an obvious, amoral con artist like Tucker Carlson has a dedicated following pretty much gives away just how much of a complete failure a certain segment of the public is at critical thinking. Perhaps that should be “complete failure to think in ANY form” since there is no sign of any thought process at all.

Perhaps the Faux Noise scammers are right to be contemptuous of their suckers. I hate to say it, but Trump was right about them.
