Telling the Truth is a Crime … Against Corruption

First off, let’s state the obvious - Gary Lineker was right, the Tories are absolutely Fascists. Walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it’s a duck. The “Conservatives” haven’t even tried to hide it.

The problem isn’t what Lineker said, it is the corruption of the Tories and the their pressure that corrupted the BBC. Only a little bit, this time - too many BBC people stood up to them, but the corruption was enough to stir up a scandal. I hope they fire everybody who pushed for or cooperated in the push to take Lineker off the air, but they won’t - the rot already runs too deep.

Since the time of Ronnie Raygun, I have been jealous of the British for having the BBC. In the States, the fascists have bought up enough of our media to eliminate almost all honest news coverage. While the U. S. got sucked into a vortex of corruption and fascism, the BBC soldiered on as (mostly) a bastion of truth. If I needed a reasonably honest take on a situation, I listened to BBC news. The BBC’s “little brothers” - the CBC and NPR - try, but they just don’t have the gravitas that the old pros have, nor the funding.

The U. S. fascists have done their damnedest to shut down NPR, but so far it survives, albeit weakened at times. Likewise, the British fascists - the Tories - are determined to eliminate the thorn in their side. Just like the GQP, the Tories cannot survive the daylight of truth shined on their corruption. It galls them no end to have the public paying for that truth to be told.

The Democratic governments of both the U. S. and Britain are teetering on the edge of fascism. The truth is one of the only weapons the rest of us have against the fascists, and the BBC is one major source of truth. We can only hope that they survive and that sooner or later the voters of both countries wake up to the pile of shit they have let the fascists make of their societies. We desperately need to vote the bastards out before it is too late. I can’t say I have a lot of hope left, though.
