Gutting the Military Command is Insurance

Tommy Tuberville, ex-football coach and freshman senator, is gutting the U. S. military’s command structure. He is abusing his power as a senator. This is obvious and along normal orange fascist lines. So far nobody has been able to stop it.

He is using the fright-wing’s culture war as cover to gut the military, there is no doubt of that. The longer term strategy is not so obvious, but looking at the 2024 Presidential election coming up makes at least one reason obvious. The orange menace can’t legitimately win it, and the military wouldn’t back him when he tried to steal the 2020 election. Stealing the election this time will require military backing.

Tuberville is making sure that experienced officers aren’t in charge of the military come election time. When the fascists steal the election, they are betting that the remaining top officers are likely to back them. The military is oath-bound to back the Constitution over any president, real or otherwise. The fascists know they have to weaken the officer corps to have any hope of getting their support.

The fact that the orangutan is very likely to be in jail is not likely to help his case with the military, though. The prosecutors that are in charge of the criminal cases need to be very careful with their lives. The fascists are stepping up their stochastic terrorism campaign. We have to expect several attempts on the lives of everyone around them. This is straight out of the Putin playbook, so I am not giving the fascists any credit for ideas. They are only implementing their master’s orders. Just ask Prigozhin about that.

Using the military for the suppression of civil disturbance is quite thoroughly illegal. Since the fascists have to try to steal the presidency, there is very likely to be a disturbance as a result. “Illegal” is also what we have come to expect from the orange fascists. Again, Putin’s hand shows itself.

Using the military is a desperation plan. The fascists are losing ground as the public ever-so-slowly wakes up and gets wise to how badly they have been conned. Let us just hope that enough wake up to prevent this whole scenario from happening.

The fascists know that they have to make it at least close in the election voting for any of this to happen. Even the weakest of officers is not going to back someone who loses in a landslide. The lies that the orange maniac told about the 2020 election no longer hold water. His brainwashed idiots are the only ones buying them. They will just bounce off if he doesn’t have at least a close vote. Orange hitler has no other cards to play, so the military has to come in on his side, or he is done.
