Time to Disappear

America wants stupid, so intelligent folks need to vanish

America has decided that stupid is what they want. The country has voted to knowingly put a Nazi lunatic with a crumbling third-grade brain back into the Whitehouse in spite of the obvious idiocy of that move. I am sure there is some reason for this, but from the standpoint of a person who lives in reality, putting crackheads in positions of power is suicidally stupid. The former GOP is now the Nazi party in all but official name, and something near a majority of the country voted to put them in power.

To be honest, I don’t want to live in the a country that chooses a Nazi over someone reasonable and intelligent. My problem is that I am not able to leave the country economically, so I would be a Trump refugee throwing myself on the mercy of the government wherever I chose to go.

Another option is simple suicide. I have never seriously tried to end it, and am not a real fan of the idea - I guess there is something in me that is just too stubborn to take the easy exit.

This leaves me with the miserable choice to live in a Nazi state, one where facts and reality are not respected and science is meaningless. Technology will only exist as a tool of authority. Realities like health care and the environment that don’t fit the regime’s official bullshit will be ignored or eliminated. Since fascism exists at the mercy of (and for the benefit of) the rich, anything that inconveniences the oligarchs will be automatically ignored. A few dead citizens simply don’t matter.

Since I have spent my life dealing with reality, I am in a bit of a quandary about what to do now, I have been trying to do things that benefit my fellow citizens, like emergency management for the impossible-to-avoid disasters that global warming is constantly throwing at us. If I continue, the unfortunate part is

• By managing emergencies, I will be trying to make up for the Nazi’s complete incompetence and total uncaring attitude toward their citizens, and
• The same Nazis will continue refusing to recognize the reality that is causing the disasters. They are and will keep doing nothing to mitigate the damage, let alone deal with the real cause. Making more disasters and more fear is how the Nazis operate.

Any success I have in disaster management only makes the insane administration look better. That concept nauseates me.

Since I have already been threatened for bringing up facts and truths about the orange cult, and I don’t feel suicidal as I said above, becoming invisible seems to be my only logical escape from a horrible situation. That doesn’t mean that I plan on doing nothing - resistance is never futile. Unless some miracle occurs, like Trump, Vance and half of the rest of the Nazis all dying of heart attacks, my only real course of action appears to be withdrawing from my (unpaid) second career and doing my level best to make things worse also. Why not help the Nazis be Nazis so that they can’t escape themselves in the end? The next Nuremberg trials will be much closer to home, is all.

I don’t think that I am alone in this situation. There are a lot of “retired” people doing volunteer work, and whose best efforts have will now been rendered meaningless. The fact that there are going to be Nazis in the Whitehouse also renders the efforts all of those who fought and died in World War II meaningless - they did so in vain. The fact that the grandchildren of the WWII dead voted for Nazis in America makes no sense to me, but then nothing in that pile of shit makes sense anyway. It is what it is.

In the course of history, intelligence and truth have always won out in the end. It is time to put our intelligence into the elimination of this evil plague of Nazism that our fellow Americans have brought down on us, and do so without becoming targets ourselves. It is sad that some of us will be caught, tortured and executed for it, but the price of liberty is always paid in blood.
