Trump’s Cult Meets Reality

I have said all along that the cult of the orangutan is a bunch of idiots - this conclusion is obvious and unavoidable. The world is becoming a more dangerous place with the entrance of the COVID-19 plague, though, and the stupidity that allows the cult of the orange turd’s herd to believe in their leader is now becoming a much more rapidly fatal affliction.

That isn’t to say that the geniuses among us aren’t in danger, but the cultists don’t deal with reality, and this makes their risk much worse. Believing idiotic conspiracy theories and the dreck that comes out of the badly misnamed Fox News might wrap the follower’s mind in a security blanket of hallucinations, but the virus doesn’t care.

To make it worse, the new hitler has zero respect and caring for the idiots that are stupid enough to believe him, and is not at all interested in helping them out with the new problem. Under the toddler-that-would-be-king, the rich will get vaccines when they come out, and nobody else will get anything. Unless there are some adults involved in the decision making, the rest of us will left to the vagaries of the marketplace, and vaccines will cost “what the market will bear.” This just guarantees that the plague will not even slow down.

I am assuming that there will be vaccines available in time to be useful, something that the government’s non-management of the medical industry makes far less likely. While somebody overseas will probably come out with a useful vaccine, there is no guarantee that an FDA corrupted by a fascist monarch-wannabe will allow production for US consumption.

The only good part of all of this is that there are several months left before the election. The rapid progress of the plague will override any spin control the Whitehouse tries. Even at best case death rates, everyone will know or be related to someone who died. That will put a real damper on any chances of the orange fool being re-elected, although the fascists have been doing their worst to make sure that the results of the election are preordained. Like the last presidential election, only the results matter, not the legitimacy.

The toddler-in-chief has shown zero respect for competence in creating the collection of sycophants that make up his executive branch, and that lack of ability is showing its true nature in the United State’s non-response to the new viral plague. Like the Chinese, the Whitehouse crowd is more worried about controlling the publicity than in dealing with the problem, and the total incompetence and uselessness of that approach is having the same effect here it did in China.

Surprise, surprise.
