Microsoft runs a Fascist Propaganda MachineAs the New York Times has pointed out, nobody has ever complained about the disinformation on LinkedIn like they have about that on Facebook. Nobody ever will, not as loudly, anyway, because the LinkedIn target audience is part of the problem. Big business types like fascism - that is the money side of the Reagan right-wing alliance that the current lame duck rides so hard. LinkedIn is where businesses go to cherry pick their fellow fascists, so if you want a job with fascists, you don’t complain about fascism where they can hear it. Since this amounts to a sort of blackmail, not many people stand up to the prevailing lack of ethics on the site. Some of the media complained when China (another link) was openly trolling LinkedIn for spies. It obviously made no difference, since that continues to this day. Microsoft claims that they are working to root out fake accounts, etc. but that effort is obviously something like a little three-person office in the basement of an grocery store in Mumbai, as effective as it is. The last time I was on LinkedIn, I saw more of the same craziness that Facebook has very publicly fought - “posts” with professional production quality telling jaw-droppingly false stories. I am talking about insane QAnon-level lies with non-obviously faked photographs and professionally written copy. It made me ill, but the accounts that these came from have been there for years. Obviously there has been no real effort made on that front. I got angry again. I started calling out the worst of the liars and bullies - the “stop the steal” lunatics and the “veterans” who thought that because they served in the military, they were immune to the reality that the rest of us live in. I returned the bullies personal attacks, pointing out in terms that matched their (in)civility that if they had used a brain cell, they couldn’t claim the shit that they were babbling. What got me banned from LinkedIn, though, was my posts calling out the “veterans” for violating their oaths by backing the orange toddler. To a non-lawyer, someone who has taken an oath that says that their duties are to defend the Constitution has no business backing a fake president that is only in the oval office to enrich himself. The orange anus is violating more and more laws every day, and has been in violation of at least one constitutional provision since he took his oath of office. The oath a service person takes specifically describes these anti-constitutional activities as something that the person is bound to fight against, full stop. A “veteran” is bound by that oath to fight against someone who is actively destroying the Constitution and the institutions that make up the government of the United States, but calling someone out for something this obvious gets you in trouble with Microsoft. Someone calling for a service person to do their oath-bound duty is too anti-fascist for the big money, apparently. Not that Microsoft corporation has ever cared about the truth, with clear evidence dating back at least as far as the browser wars and anti-Linux battles of the 80’s, which they finally lost because even the best lawyers and millions in wasted legal fees and corporate shenanigans couldn’t beat reality when they had inferior products. If their lawyers say that can get away with it, they will try it, and are sufficiently rich to buy the best justice and therefore generally win. I am not interested in working for fascists, so I don’t need LinkedIn. I am pointing out the obvious because they decided to silence me where they could get away with it. Microsoft has a bigger megaphone and well-paid liars to cover their public relations, but their actions speak far louder than any PR campaign ever will. They and their fellow big-money fascists may continue their lies and deceit, but I am standing up and calling their lies out for what they are.
