I was hunting for a reference connecting the Nazi Goebbels to the Fox News effect and found something surprising:

His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it.

I had to read it twice. The first time through, I thought it had to be talking about a certain orange fake former president. For all of his failed-third-grade idiocy, the Donald was a good student of Hitler.

Now the MAGAt spawn of the orange one have entirely taken over the former GOP. Good students all - Abbot, Ducey, DeSantis, etc., ad nauseum, and there is not one whit of truth to be found between them. They all follow that profile perfectly. It worked for the orange cult leader, so why not? The GQP is all Hitler clones now.
