Greg Abbot Makes Culture War into Shooting War

In a stunning leap of illogic that works only for QAnon lunatics, Texas fruitcake pseudo-governor Abbott declared, against all evidence, that a person found guilty - by a unanimous jury - of killing a black man was in fact guilty only of self defense. The ridiculous babbling accompanying this was not worth repeating.

What this says is, in effect, that “They looked at me funny, I felt threatened” is a suitable defense against a mass murder charge, as long as the murderer was a white, conservative male, and the dead weren’t. Liberals, Mexicans, Chinese, Blacks, Women, it doesn’t matter - they are all garbage in Texas now. Lynching is an idle pastime for white boys, and they don’t need to bother with robes and hoods. The governor has sanctioned it.

I expect Florida’s resident QAnon pathology poster child Rhonda Sadist to follow suit, of course. He could never be accused of letting someone else beat him to the bottom.

I live in Kentucky, and anyone living in this state is held hostage to the same QAnon fruitcakes, not to mention “represented” by lunatics like Massie in the House and Paul and McConnell in the Senate. The fact that massive swaths of this country are in thrall to this kind of insanity have me thinking seriously about purchasing an AR-15 and/or a 9mm pistol for when the freaks decide that I am too liberal to be allowed to live in “their” state, town, whatever.

The fact that I would have struck back in real self-defense would be nullified because I am “a damned lib,” of course. They would be dying by their own false Second Amendment logic, so justice would be somewhat served.

The long and bloody history of the badly misnamed “right to life” and their current controlling lunacy stand as an example of how far we have gone away from civilization. Like DeSadist and Abbott, the only morals that “right to life” has are the hitlerian morals of brutally controlling others. Regardless of what they label themselves, fascists are fascists, and they are increasingly showing their true selves.

Democracy is under attack on many fronts, and so far is barely holding on. I refuse to give up. Isn’t it pathetic that we are forced to fight back on the fright-wing’s terms, though? Isn’t there some way to force them to at least fake civilized behavior? I don’t have much (if any) hope of that.
